ABOUT THE PROJECT
This checklist is a simple time-based framework that outlines clinical tasks that need completing for each patient in the first hours of their admittance to an ED. The Checklist helps to standardise and improve the delivery of basic care in emergency departments, systemising the observations, tests and treatments that need to be completed in a certain order.
THE CHALLENGE
The emergency department at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton has been successful in implementing the nationally-recognised ED Checklist. At present the checklist is carried out on paper, we were asked to further streamline this process and improve patient care while reducing administrative workload and documentation error.
THE SOLUTION
We created an app that ensures assessments and tests happen in a timely way in order to improve patient satisfaction, reduce risk and speed up the overall process.
